KUWAIT CITY, July 27: In an indication of the gradual return to normalcy, the travel movement and the air transportation market in Kuwait recently witnessed a remarkable recovery, which has been described by officials as the largest since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports Al-Qabas daily. In an exclusive press statement, Head of the Union of Travel and Tourism Offices Mohammad Al-Mutairi said, “According to statistics issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the total number of flight tickets to and from Kuwait during the period from January to July 10 this year reached 635,000.
Its total revenues amounted to about KD 50 million. The month of June witnessed the highest increase in the issuance of tickets during the current year, as 163,000 flight tickets were issued to several different stations, and the total revenue reached about KD 18 million, resulting in 50 percent of sales before the pandemic.”
