Travis Kelce ensures Taylor Swift’s safety this Christmas with special gift of protection

LOS ANGELES, Dec 26: Travis Kelce has gone above and beyond to ensure his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s safety, gifting her peace of mind this Christmas in the form of a newly installed safety room at his $6 million Kansas City mansion. The decision comes after Kelce's property was targeted by thieves in October while both he and Swift were attending a game at Arrowhead Stadium.

According to insiders, the burglary left the couple shaken as thieves broke into Kelce’s home, stealing $100,000 worth of jewelry, $20,000 in cash, and the player's first-ever Super Bowl jersey. The break-in occurred while Kelce’s teammate, Patrick Mahomes, was also targeted in a nearby burglary.

As a result, Kelce has implemented extensive security measures. A source explained that in addition to a dedicated security team watching over the perimeter of the property 24/7, Kelce has added a state-of-the-art safety room as part of his home renovations. "Aside from a team of skilled security protecting the perimeter and surrounding grounds of his home 24/7, he has also installed a safety room in his renovations, which also include a man cave underground," the insider revealed. “He has installed a security system that secures every possible entry, including windows."

The source further shared, “The burglary was a huge wake-up call for them, and they will not spare any expense when it comes to their safety.”

Despite the scare, Kelce, who purchased the lavish mansion in Leawood, Kansas, last year, made the decision not to sell the property after the break-in. This was confirmed by a source who told DailyMail.com that Kelce was determined to stay in his home despite the breach. The break-in, which occurred on October 7, coincided with the Chiefs' victory over the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium while Swift was in attendance.

“It was a calculated break-in,” an insider explained at the time. “Taylor and Travis are not taking any chances. The intruders knew exactly when the house would be empty, and they could easily see that she was at the game he was playing in. They knew how long they had to carry out the robbery based on when the game ended."

Since the incident, the couple has taken drastic security measures, including installing a more advanced in-home security system and reinforced locks. "After the game, [the couple] stayed at a hotel and since then they have taken drastic measures including a more advanced in-home security system and reinforced locks, etc.," the source added.

This burglary also serves as a stark reminder for Swift, who has faced her own security concerns. In January, a man was arrested after attempting to open the door to Swift’s Manhattan townhouse.

However, the insider confirmed that Swift was not the target of the break-in at Kelce’s mansion and emphasized that she feels safe when she is with him. “Taylor feels safe when she is with Travis, and he is by her side,” the source said. “Her family feels safe when he is with her. And they will both feel incredibly safe at his house now because they also have around-the-clock armed security personnel to ensure nothing like this can ever happen again. They are sparing no expense.”

Both Kelce and Mahomes reside in Kansas City suburbs, with Kelce living in Leawood and Mahomes in Belton, Missouri. The break-in at Mahomes’ residence occurred on the night of October 6, just before the Chiefs’ game against the Saints.

Although the unsettling event has now passed, Kelce and Swift’s relationship continues to thrive. Swift hosted Kelce and his family at her Nashville home for Thanksgiving. Just a week ago, Kelce threw an extravagant Eras Tour-themed party to celebrate Swift’s successful tour and her 35th birthday on December 13. Swift wrapped her historic $2 billion grossing tour on December 8, after nearly two years on the road.

Despite earlier reports of exhaustion from the demanding tour, Swift appeared thrilled to celebrate with close friends, including Brittany and Patrick Mahomes. Photos from the party shared on social media captured the couple enjoying their time together, with Kelce and Swift both looking joyous. Kelce’s close friend, Ross Travis, also posted pictures from the event, captioning one: “Epic night for an Epic run!” Another image captured Swift dancing with a microphone in hand, while Kelce stood close by.

Kelce and Swift celebrated their one-year anniversary in July, having first met a few months prior when Swift attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023. The couple began spending time together after Kelce admitted he failed to give her his phone number.

“We started hanging out right after that,” Swift said. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date.”

Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the relationship inspires new music from Swift. She has been spotted at Electric Lady Studios in New York, though it remains unclear if she’s working on new material or continuing her re-recording process. Swift still has two albums left to re-record—her debut Taylor Swift and her sixth release Reputation.
