LOS ANGELES, July 11: Former President Donald Trump has sharply criticized actor George Clooney for his recent call urging President Biden to drop out of the upcoming election, just weeks after co-hosting a fundraiser for him. Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday night to lambast Clooney, accusing him of hypocrisy and political opportunism.

In his post, Trump condemned Clooney for allegedly turning on President Biden, whom he referred to as "Crooked Joe," likening them to "rats." Clooney had recently penned an op-ed in The New York Times advocating for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

"What does Clooney know about anything?" Trump questioned in his social media statement. He ridiculed Clooney for echoing Democratic talking points about Biden supposedly saving democracy, a claim Trump vehemently disputed. Instead, Trump blamed Biden for what he termed as weaponizing law enforcement against political opponents, causing severe inflation, mishandling the Afghanistan situation, and implementing what he described as a reckless open-border policy.

"Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees," Trump asserted.

The former president then offered the Hollywood star some advice, writing, “Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!”
