KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: Three passengers – a man and 2 women – were arrested separately at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle hashish, marijuana, and narcotic pills into the country.

According to a press release issued by the General Administration of Customs (GAC), Director of GAC had issued instructions to the Airport Customs Department to be on alert during this period due to the large number of flights arriving and departing the airport.

One of the customs officers at T4 terminal suspected a woman who arrived in Kuwait from a neighboring country. He checked her luggage and found 1,480 narcotic pills.

Also, customs officers suspected a woman who arrived from a European country and checked her luggage to find a piece of hashish. In addition, a man who arrived from a major country was caught with marijuana at the airport.

All of the above-mentioned passengers were arrested and referred with the confiscated drugs to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Customs officers were praised for their alertness and dedication to their duty.

Meanwhile, two young men were arrested in Jahra area in possession of methamphetamine and other drugs, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, Jahra securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected two young men and stopped them for checking. After noticing their disoriented state, securitymen checked them to find drugs. They were arrested and referred with the confiscated drugs to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
