KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: Kuwait Club marked a new milestone in the Zain Premier League, securing its ninth consecutive victory with a commanding 3-0 win over Al-Tadamon. This result sees it conclude the league’s first half with a perfect record of 27 points, sitting nine points ahead of nearest rival Al-Arabi, who still has two postponed matches.
The goals for Kuwait Club were scored by Amr Abdel Fattah (41'), Youssef Nasser (58'), and Mohammed Marhoon (84').
Today, the "Whites" are set to begin an internal training camp in preparation for its upcoming AFC Champions League 2 clash against Shabab Al-Ahli of the UAE, scheduled for Wednesday in the fourth round of Group 4.
Board Member and Vice President of the Football Department Adel Aqla expressed pride in the team’s latest triumph, noting the high level of competition and hoping Kuwait Club can maintain this form until the end of the season.
Aqla also called for the inclusion of Kuwait Club captain Fahad Hamoud in the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against South Korea and Jordan on November 14 and 19.
Team captain Fahad Hamoud voiced his joy over the club’s accomplishment, applauding the efforts of all players, as well as the technical, administrative, and medical staff. He commended the club's board for their unwavering support since the season’s start, expressing hopes that the team continues this momentum.
Al-Tadamon's assistant coach, Jamal Al-Qabandi, commented on the match, noting that while Kuwait Club capitalized on its opportunities, luck seemed to be against Al-Tadamon. Despite the result, he thanked his players for their effort and noted it was their first match without scoring. Al-Tadamon currently sits with 11 points and will use the upcoming break to reassess.
In another match, Kazma returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Yarmouk, with goals from John Red (11') and Youssef Al-Khatib (90'). Kazma now holds 10 points, placing it seventh, while Yarmouk remains in last with 3 points.
Kazma’s coach Saad Al-Shabi highlighted the early goal as a confidence booster for his players, enabling them to maintain consistency throughout the match. He praised the team for capitalizing on its opportunities and adhering to the technical staff’s guidance, adding that he is adjusting strategies based on each match’s needs.
