KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: The clash of titans, IBAK KDD Kuwait Badminton League 2021 concluded with the best team holding up the championship trophy crushing five other endowed teams. And it’s none other than the “Victor”. The final witnessed their incommensurable talents over the opponent team “Thanjai Ninjas”. It was indeed a battle of nerves between both the teams wherein the end Victor grabbed the trophy with a 3-2 lead. During the final battle while Victor took lead by winning the Professional Men’s Doubles, Thanjai Ninjas leveled score by winning the First Open Men’s Doubles. The third match of the final tie the Advance Men’s Doubles was won by Thanjai Ninjas.

Victor fought back to win the Second Open Men’s doubles. Victor sealed victory by winning the decider match of the tie, the Mixed Doubles. IBAK KDD KBL is the premier and only professional badminton league in Kuwait. Indian Badminton Association Kuwait (IBAK) had conceived the idea of a league in 2015, and this was the 6th consecutive year in which the league was held. Kuwait Danish Diary (KDD) was the title sponsor of the Kuwait Badminton League for all these years.

Earlier in a fierce battle for a spot in the final, Victor defeated KKR Killers (3-2) in the first semifinals. In the second semifinals, Thanjai Ninjas proved superior to ISA Kuwait in a hard-fought tie (3-1) The KDD KBL 2021 prize distribution was done by Korula Chandy, Marketing Manager - KDD, in the presence of Dr Manimara Chozhan - Chairman IBAK, Chandrahas K.T - President IBAK & KBL, Aneesh Abraham - General Secretary IBAK, Ajaykumar Vasudevan - VP KBL and Bipin Madhavan - COO KBL, Subin Varghese - Tournament Secretary as well as other directors of KBL. The KDD KBL 2021 consisted of 6 teams, Thanjai Ninjas, Victor, Team 5.30, Dragons, KKR Killers and ISA Kuwait. Each tie had 5 matches, 1 Professional Men’s Doubles, two open Men’s Doubles, one advanced Men’s Doubles and a Mixed Doubles.

Kuwait Danish Diary (KDD), in line with its vision of “Wholesome Goodness” came forward to support IBAK and Kuwait Badminton League for the sixth consecutive year. With the improving health situations in Kuwait Badminton lovers of Kuwait are anxiously waiting for the 7th edition of the Kuwait Badminton Challenge, IBAK’s International Badminton Tournament. All the previous editions were a grand success with participation from BWF ranked players from different parts of the world like India, Indonesia and Malaysia. Sports lovers of Kuwait are expected to experience this badminton extravaganza once travel restrictions are eased.
