NEW YORK, Aug 15: Two toddlers, wearing only diapers, were discovered in the middle of a Texas highway following a two-car collision, authorities reported. The incident occurred on Tuesday on the main lanes of Interstate 10 East Freeway in Freeport, Texas, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez's post on X.

The crash involved two vehicles, one of which overturned multiple times, leading to ejections. The flipped vehicle was occupied by one adult and two children, who were transported to a hospital for treatment. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured, Gonzalez noted.

Sheriff Gonzalez did not provide specific details about the ages or conditions of the children or the adult involved. USA TODAY reached out to the Harris County Sheriff's Office for more information but has not yet received a response.

Victor Cordova, who witnessed the crash while driving home, shared his experience with KTRK-TV. "I thought they actually passed away. I thought they were dead," Cordova said. He later realized that the toddlers were alive when he saw them in the video. Toward the end of the footage, two men are seen attending to and comforting the children.
