Visit visas for expats open, violators face tough action

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: The First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef affirmed that the new residency law is currently under review by the Legal Committee and will be approved soon. During his presence in Khaitan while an extensive security campaign was ongoing, the minister said, “Visit visas for expatriates are open but based on specific terms and conditions. Strict legal measures will be implemented against those who violate these conditions.” He highlighted that security campaigns are ongoing in all areas to apprehend wanted individuals, violators, and outlaws, adding, “These campaigns will continue and are aimed at reducing violations of the residency law”.

The Ministry of Interior announced that it conducted an intensive security and traffic campaign in Khaitan area under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. The ministry explained that the campaign involved officers from various field sectors, including the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Rescue Police, and the Public Security Sector, with support from the Special Security Forces and the participation of the Women’s Police.

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 2,831 traffic citations, and the arrest of 34 individuals who were either reported as absconding or had outstanding arrest warrants, and 17 violators of residency and labor laws. Also, 22 wanted vehicles were seized, three vehicles were impounded, two cases of narcotic possession were found, and four individuals were referred to the traffic police. The ministry affirmed the importance of following the example set by the country’s political leadership in completing the biometric procedures, as these government measures apply to everyone without exception. It called on everyone who has not yet completed the biometric procedures to do so as soon as possible, warning that all banking and government transactions will be suspended until compliance is achieved, and necessary actions will be taken accordingly.

The Ministry of Interior conducted an intensive security and traffic campaign in Farwaniya under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and with the participation of the Traffic, Rescue, Public Security, Special Forces, and Women’s Police sectors. The campaign resulted in the issuance of 2,833 traffic citations, and arrest of nine individuals without any identification document, 23 violators of the residency and labor laws, 16 individuals who were reported as absconding, and three individuals in drug-related cases. The officers referred three wanted individuals to the Criminal Enforcement Department and three to the General Traffic Department.

Also, 11 wanted vehicles were seized, and six vehicles and three motorcycles were confiscated. The ministry affirmed that these campaigns are part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and order throughout the country. It also affirmed the continuation of the plan to arrest violators and wanted individuals and ensure public safety.
