KUWAIT CITY, November 12: Warba Bank - the best bank in corporate and investment banking services in Kuwait - signed a strategic partnership with the Scientific Center, one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, to cooperate in the field of environmental conservation and sustainability and enhance joint efforts in this regard through a partnership that will extend until the end of 2025.
This partnership aims to launch environmental programs and initiatives targeting different age groups, especially youth and children, to raise awareness on the importance of protecting the environment and facing the challenges of climate change.
In this regard, the Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Warba Bank, Dr. Mohammad Barakat, stated that this partnership comes within the Bank’s commitment to social responsibility and its support for environmental efforts by adopting strategies that enhance integrated sustainability as well as implementing many initiatives, programs and projects concerned with protecting and preserving the environment.
Dr. Barakat added that the partnership will include an integrated program of initiatives and events that highlight environmental and climate issues, aiming to raise environmental awareness among all members of society, and is in line with Warba Bank’s vision to preserve Kuwait’s environment and support the transition towards a sustainable future.
Dr. Barakat also referred to Warba Bank’s pioneering role in sustainable financing and launching products and services aimed at green transformation, stressing that the Bank’s efforts in the field of sustainability are part of its plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, and its aspiration to reach net zero emissions in its operations by 2035.
For his part, Deputy General Manager - Visitors Engagement at the Scientific Center, Mr. Mohammad S. Al-Sanousi, expressed his pride in this partnership, saying: “The strategic partnership with Warba Bank comes within the framework of the joint Scientific Center’s efforts to enhance environmental awareness and establish the principle of sustainability in society.”
Al-Sanousi added: “This partnership will contribute to providing distinctive workshops, educational programs, and environmental events throughout the year, targeting all segments of society, and focusing in particular on youth and children. The aim of these activities is to educate the younger generations about the importance of protecting the environment and preserving its natural resources to achieve a more sustainable future. It is worth noting that this partnership is not just a temporary cooperation, but rather part of our vision to enhance the role of the Scientific Center as a leading institution in environmental awareness and sustainable education.”
