Kuwait Municipality cracks down on temporary event tents, owners given one-week deadline.

KUWAIT CITY, May 14: Kuwait Municipality has commenced issuing warnings to owners of temporary event tents, commonly known as wedding halls, instructing them to dismantle their structures within a week. Muhammad Al-Mutairi, the official spokesperson for Kuwait Municipality and Director of the Public Relations Department, emphasized the municipality's firm stance on enforcing regulations regarding the removal of these tents, by Decree-Law No. 105 of 1980 concerning state property, as amended by Decree-Law No. 8 of 1988.

According to Al-Mutairi, owners of wedding hall tents are obligated to dismantle them, allowing the land they occupy to revert to its original state. This action is intended to facilitate the municipality's efforts to reorganize the land by new regulations. Al-Mutairi urged owners of wedding hall tents situated on state lands to promptly adhere to the directive before the expiration of the warning period. He emphasized that supervisory teams will take necessary action to remove the tents if owners fail to comply within the stipulated timeframe.
