KUWAIT CITY, May 15: The General Administration of Civil Aviation issued a statement today, emphasizing the importance for travelers departing from Kuwait to European Union (Schengen) countries to obtain their travel visas from the embassy of their departure country.

Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Acting Deputy Director-General for Aviation Safety, Air Transport, and Civil Aviation Security, highlighted in a press release the necessity for tourism and travel offices assisting citizens with Schengen visa applications to provide accurate information regarding travel tickets and accommodation reservations. Al-Rajhi warned that Civil Aviation would take legal action against tourism and travel offices found not complying with these directives. He further urged all travelers to verify the validity of their travel visa for the destination country before departing from Kuwait International Airport.

This announcement follows a recent advisory from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued two days ago, urging citizens to refrain from making fake reservations to obtain travel visas to Schengen countries. Such actions not only hinder the visa application process but also lead to rejection by the relevant embassy.
