KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10:  The environmental police in Kuwait have emphasized that throwing water balloons constitutes a violation of environmental protection laws. Offenders may face penalties of up to a KD 5,000 fine or imprisonment for a maximum of three years. With national celebrations being a source of joy for both children and adults in Kuwait, it is common for people to engage in activities such as parades and playful water balloon fights.

However, the government has prohibited the use of spraying foam during these celebrations in recent years. Consequently, many individuals have turned to water balloons as an alternative. To promote responsible behavior during festivities, the Ministry of Electricity and Water has launched awareness campaigns discouraging the wasteful use of water. Nonetheless, complaints have arisen regarding instances of individuals being targeted with water balloons by children in various neighborhoods.
