‘We are keen to get the stadiums ready before Gulf Cup’

KUWAIT CITY, July 3: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Child Affairs, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, emphasized the importance of ensuring the readiness of Kuwaiti stadiums for the upcoming Arab Gulf Cup Football Championship (Gulf 26), scheduled to be hosted in Kuwait next December.

After inspecting the Jaber International, Al-Nasr, and Sulaibikhat stadiums, where the championship matches will take place, Dr. Al-Huwaila stated that she directed the officials of the General Sports Authority to complete the stadium preparations in the best possible manner to ensure the event’s success.

She explained that the Authority and the tournament organizing committee will make every effort to address the observations made by the Gulf Cup Federation’s inspection committee in its previous rounds and to develop appropriate solutions. She added that work will continue in the coming period to complete all arrangements early for the successful preparation of the tournament.

She highlighted the special attention the tournament receives from the country’s political leadership, noting its role in bringing together Gulf youth in a spirit of fraternal competition. She expressed confidence in the Kuwaiti cadres’ ability to organize a distinctive version of the tournament, which garners broad popular and Gulf media attention.

Accompanying Minister Al-Huwaila on the tour were the Acting Director General of the General Sports Authority, Bashar Abdullah, the Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Faisal Al-Yateem, and several Authority officials.
