Since the last elections, we have been plagued with many new members of the National Assembly who are still considered as nothing in the eyes of many. I read all the local newspapers every morning, and I even go through pages of the activities of the members of the National Assembly that are published in some newspapers only to fill the blank spaces and nothing else.
However, not a single new MP remained in my memory such that I will not know any of them when I pass by a diwaniya or a cooperative society, or a public place except for those who frequently appear in the media.
In the 1990s, we occupied the seats of the National Assembly, and everyone knew who we were because we were the media and political faces before we reached the parliamentary seat. However, now most of these “nothing” MPs we are talking about came from tribes, sects, families of blue blood and the like.
