KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: Rainfall in Kuwait began on Monday, ranging from light to moderate and occasionally heavy in some areas, accompanied by light to moderate winds. These winds, at times, were strong enough to cause dust storms, reducing visibility and leading to high sea waves, according to the Meteorological Department.
The Director of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, informed KUNA that cloud cover and rainfall are expected to gradually decrease by Wednesday evening. He also noted the possibility of fog in certain areas, with weather conditions expected to stabilize fully by Thursday.
Al-Ali further mentioned that starting Thursday, the country will experience the impact of a high-pressure system extending into Kuwait, along with a cold air mass. This will result in a significant drop in temperatures and a shift in winds to the northwesterly direction, which will be moderate to active at times, enhancing the feeling of cold. Daytime temperatures will be moderate to cold, while nighttime temperatures will be cold.
Currently, Kuwait is under the influence of a surface low-pressure system, which is gradually deepening, in conjunction with another low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere. This is bringing a relatively humid air mass, leading to the formation of low to medium clouds and scattered rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder.
