KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: The Kuwait Meteorological Department (MD) has forecast that the weather over the weekend will be generally cool during the day and cold to very cold at night.

Dharar Al-Ali, the department's acting director, informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Kuwait will be affected by an extension of a high-pressure system, accompanied by a cold and dry air mass. This will bring light to moderate northwesterly winds and some scattered clouds.

Al-Ali further explained that starting Friday afternoon, a low-pressure system will begin affecting the country, causing winds to shift to southeasterly, with light to moderate speeds, occasionally becoming active. There is also a chance of scattered rain, which may be thundery at times.

The weather on Thursday will be moderate to cold, with northwesterly winds blowing at light to moderate speeds, ranging from 10 to 38 kilometers per hour. Some high clouds are expected to appear, and maximum temperatures will range between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderate, with waves between 2 and 5 feet.

Tonight, the weather will be cold to very cold and partly cloudy, with northwesterly to variable winds at light to moderate speeds, ranging from 8 to 28 km/h. Minimum temperatures will be between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be light to moderate, with waves between 1 and 4 feet.

On Friday, the weather will be moderate, partly cloudy to cloudy, with southeasterly winds at light to moderate speeds, sometimes becoming active, ranging from 12 to 40 km/h. There will be a chance of scattered rain, which may become thundery later. Maximum temperatures will range between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be light to moderate, with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.

Friday night will bring cold to very cold weather, with the sky ranging from cloudy to partly cloudy. Southeasterly to variable winds will be light to moderate, sometimes becoming active, ranging from 8 to 40 km/h. Scattered rain, which may be thundery, is possible. Minimum temperatures will range between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be light to moderate, with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.

On Saturday, the weather will be cold, with northwesterly winds at light to moderate speeds, sometimes becoming active, ranging from 12 to 45 km/h. There will be a chance of dust in exposed areas. Maximum temperatures will range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be light to moderate, with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.

Saturday night will be cold to very cold, with northwesterly winds at light to moderate speeds, sometimes becoming active, ranging from 12 to 42 km/h. Minimum temperatures will range between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be light to moderate, with waves sometimes rising between 2 and 6 feet.
