KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Faisal Al-Ansari confirmed the stability of meat and food prices in the wholesale market, and the continuation of the Livestock Trade and Transport Company in offering its meat at the usual normal prices. Al-Ansari said this in a press statement issued yesterday following the first inspection tour conducted by the emergency team from the Commercial Control Department and the Technical Authority for Supervising Goods and Determining Their Prices.

The team visited wholesale markets in Shuwaikh to monitor the prices of meat, food, and basic commodities in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. He highlighted that the inspection team had monitored the prices of meat and basic commodities in the Shuwaikh wholesale market, and obtained pledges from company and store officials not to raise prices. It is worth noting that the Commercial Control Department recently held a meeting with the Technical Authority for Supervising Goods and Determining Prices to assess the readiness of markets for Ramadan. The ministry also discussed plans to monitor central markets, cooperative societies, meat and date shops, restaurants, sweet shops, and mills ahead of the holy month.
