ChatGPT helps users verify dating app heights: AI estimates accurate within inches.

NEW YORK, Aug 15: ChatGPT, the AI chatbot known for writing essays, jokes, and speeches, is now being used by dating app users to verify the accuracy of height claims in profiles.

Women are increasingly turning to ChatGPT to cross-check the heights of potential matches by uploading profile photos and asking the AI for an estimate. Justine Moore, a venture capitalist from San Francisco, revealed that the AI's height estimates are accurate within an inch for both men and women.

Moore shared on Twitter, "Girls are using ChatGPT to see if men are lying about their height on dating apps. Upload four pictures, and it uses proportions and surroundings to estimate height. I tested it on 10 friends and family members – all estimates were within 1 inch of their real height."

To use this method, users simply need a ChatGPT account. They can take screenshots of their matches from popular dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Badoo, or OKCupid, and upload these photos to ChatGPT with the request: "How tall would you estimate this person is?" ChatGPT then provides an estimated height based on the images.

Moore tested the AI by uploading a photo of herself. Initially, one photo wasn’t enough for a precise estimate, but after submitting a second photo, ChatGPT estimated her height as "likely around 6 feet," which was a few inches off her actual height of 6 feet 2 inches.

For accurate results, ChatGPT requires more than one photo and needs to see most of the person's body. Distinctive background features, such as cars or street signs, help the AI make a more precise estimate by providing context for scaling.

The trend of using ChatGPT to verify heights comes as dating app users, especially women, seek to avoid mismatches. Many dating profiles include height information, but some users exaggerate their height to appear more appealing. For instance, men might use tricks like sitting down in photos or standing on crates to appear taller.

Height can be a significant factor in dating preferences, with studies showing that taller men are often seen as more desirable. Women tend to prefer not to be taller than their male partners, associating height with protection and the potential for healthier offspring.

The use of ChatGPT for height verification highlights the growing role of AI in the dating world and reflects broader trends in how technology is used to enhance personal interactions.
