Yarmouk claims title after thrilling final against Khaitan

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: The Tennis League Championship for Under-16 players concluded recently at the Yarmouk Club courts, with Yarmouk securing a 2-1 victory over Khaitan in the final match. The event was attended by Abdul Redha Al-Gharib, Chairman of the Tennis Federation, and Technical Director Abbas Al-Busairi, who also presided over the coronation ceremony.

In the opening singles match, Yarmouk’s Mohammed Al-Awadhi dominated against Khaitan’s Khaled Al-Mutairi, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

The second singles match saw Yarmouk’s Abdul Rahman Abdul Abdullah overpower Khaitan’s Abdul Razzaq Al-Kaak, also in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

In the doubles match, Khaitan’s Abdul Rahman Ahmed and Mohammed Al-Sultin staged a comeback to defeat Yarmouk’s Fares Al-Kazemi and Mohammed Al-Turkait in three sets, with scores of 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.

Yarmouk Club claimed first place with 10 points, edging out Khaitan based on head-to-head victories. Khaitan also finished with 10 points but settled for second place. Kuwait Club secured third place with 7 points.
