Young woman falls from treadmill, plunges to death from third-story window

INDONESIA, June 25: Horrifying footage has emerged capturing the tragic moment when a young woman lost her life after falling from a treadmill and tumbling out of a third-story window at a gym in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, was captured by a security camera installed in the gym. The footage shows the 22-year-old woman working out near the end of a row of treadmills before stumbling backward, straight toward an open window behind the gym equipment.

Despite her attempts to grasp onto the window frame, the woman fell three stories to the ground below. She was immediately rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries but, tragically, medical efforts to save her life were unsuccessful.

An autopsy report revealed extensive bruising and lacerations to her head. While the deceased woman remains unnamed, local reports confirm her age to be 22 years old.

Reports suggest that the woman had gone to the gym with her younger sibling and boyfriend, who had suggested working out together on the second floor. However, she opted to use the treadmill on the top level.

The Pontianak City Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating the incident. Authorities have highlighted the dangerous situation created by the proximity of the treadmill to the window, emphasizing the need for caution in gym layouts.

Following the tragic incident, the gym issued an apology to the woman’s family and announced the closure of its business for three days as a mark of respect.
