ROME, Feb 23, (KUNA): Kuwaiti athletes Zaid Al-Sulaitin and Abdulaziz Al-Sulaitin secured gold medals in their respective categories at the World Jiu-Jitsu Grand Slam Championship, which concluded the day before yesterday in Rome, Italy.
Zaid Al-Sulaitin triumphed in the under-14 category, defeating the reigning world and European champion from Ukraine to claim the top spot. Meanwhile, Abdulaziz Al-Sulaitin earned gold in the under-12 category, adding to Kuwait’s success on the international stage.
The World Jiu-Jitsu Grand Slam Championship is regarded as the second-largest and most prestigious tournament for professional Jiu-Jitsu athletes, boasting a six-star classification. Held annually across various countries, it attracts elite competitors from around the globe.
