KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Zain has announced its partnership with the second edition of Souq Al-Mubarakiya, a unique event held in Manchester, United Kingdom, under the patronage of the Embassy of Kuwait to the United Kingdom. The event is a prelude to the upcoming Kuwait 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day celebrations.

Organized by Youthvent, the event attracted a large turnout of Kuwaiti students, their families, and Kuwaiti nationals residing in the UK. Zain had a strong presence at the event, with the attendance of Bader Al-Kharafi, Zain Vice Chairman and Group CEO, along with Nawaf Al-Gharabally, CEO of Zain Kuwait, and several company executives. The leadership’s participation reaffirmed Zain’s ongoing commitment to supporting and engaging with Kuwaiti students abroad while contributing to national initiatives that strengthen the sense of belonging and cultural identity.

Bader Al-Kharafi stated: “This remarkable event unites us under the banner of patriotism and national pride. Kuwaiti students abroad are ambassadors for their nation, and the skills they acquire today will shape Kuwait’s future. It is a responsibility they carry alongside their pursuit of knowledge and education.”

He added: “We live in an era driven by technology, where rapid advancements—particularly in artificial intelligence—are reshaping the world. Technology is no longer a luxury or an option; it is a necessity for building a strong and prosperous future. Today, our country needs creative minds capable of leveraging these tools with intelligence and responsibility.”

Emphasizing the importance of staying connected to one’s roots, Al-Kharafi addressed Kuwaiti youth abroad saying: “Beyond academic and technological advancements, maintaining a strong connection to your Kuwaiti community is equally vital. Being abroad should never mean losing touch with your heritage; rather, you must stay close to one another, exchange ideas, support each other, and work together to present a positive image of Kuwait. This is the core purpose of this event, and Zain is proud to be present with you in your journey abroad and to reaffirm that we stand with you, support you, and take pride in your achievements.”

He further stated: “At Zain, our role as a leader in technological innovation goes beyond providing digital solutions. We see ourselves as partners in empowering youth and strengthening engagement with Kuwaitis abroad. Our 4WARD-progress with purpose strategy is clear: we want to build Better Lives and create Lasting Connections, and this vision forms the foundation of our social strategy to actively contribute to the communities we serve."

The Souq Al-Mubarakiya 2 event featured a variety of engaging cultural and entertainment activities aimed at fostering interaction among Kuwaiti students across the UK and Kuwaiti nationals residing there. The activities carried a traditional theme, reinforcing national pride and a sense of belonging.

The event also included a panel discussion featuring Waleed Al-Khashti, Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer, who discussed Zain’s role in community engagement through its numerous annual initiatives spanning youth support, sports, culture, education, and health.

Additional highlights included Zain’s interactive competition segment, where attendees participated in contests and won prizes. Kuwaiti businesses were also present, showcasing their local products and services to visitors. The entertainment lineup featured performances by Miami Kuwait Band and artist Mutref Al-Mutref, as well as a Stage Talk segment presented by Khaled Al-Ansari and Captain Fawzi Ibrahim.

Zain’s sponsorship of this national gathering reflects its deep belief in the vital role that youth and students play in shaping the country’s future. The company remains committed to participating in such events to engage with the next generation, hear their perspectives, and support their aspirations abroad.
