KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: Zain announced its support for the book The Gulf Cup... A Chronicle of History and Memories, authored by Emirati sports critic Mohammed Al-Jokar. The book chronicles the rich story of the Arabian Gulf Cup football tournament and highlights the profound and historic ties between Kuwait and the UAE. This initiative coincides with the recent kick-off of Khaleeji Zain 26.
To mark the occasion, Zain’s Innovation Center (ZINC) at the company’s headquarters in Shuwaikh hosted a special gathering attended by the UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al-Neyadi, the book’s author Mohammed Al-Jokar, Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al-Khashti, and the company’s team.
The book delves into the rich history of the Arabian Gulf Cup since its inception in 1970, recounting its key milestones and underscoring the deep-rooted relations among Gulf nations, particularly between Kuwait and the UAE.
It also sheds light on the Gulf leaders’ commitment to supporting and developing sports. Additionally, the book offers insights into the Gulf Cup Football Federation’s pivotal role in organizing the tournament and its notable achievements over the years.
Zain expressed its pride in the resounding success of the recent Khaleeji Zain 26 opening ceremony, held under the esteemed patronage of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The company praised the artistic performances that celebrated the Gulf’s heritage and emphasized a unified Gulf vision for a brighter future.
As the tournament’s official partner, Zain highlighted the remarkable nature of the opening event, which reflected Kuwait’s prestigious standing in the international sports arena.
