KUWAIT CITY, March 24: Majed Al-Azmi, the Director General of Zakat House, announced on Sunday that the organization has donated KD 2 million to the national campaign aimed at helping individuals repay their debts. The campaign, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs, was launched in response to the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Azmi emphasized that the campaign is part of the country’s ongoing efforts to support citizens facing financial hardship. He highlighted the Ministry of Social Affairs' commitment to establishing a mechanism that ensures the aid reaches as many eligible individuals as possible, guided by clear controls and standards.
Al-Azmi further explained that the donation aligns with Zakat House's social mission and its role in assisting vulnerable groups. He noted that zakat funds are specifically allocated for such initiatives, as they hold great virtue and reward in helping relieve the burden of individuals burdened by debts they are unable to repay.
Reaffirming Zakat House’s dedication to supporting those in need, Al-Azmi stressed that this contribution reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity within Kuwaiti society, showcasing the strength of the Kuwaiti family’s cohesion.
