KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Statistics issued by the security authorities shows the government of Kuwait has deported approximately one million expatriates over the past 20 years for committing various types of offences, reports Al-Shahed daily. This number, the sources say, is equal to one-fourth of the number of citizens and residents. The daily added, some of them were deported after serving the prison sentences and others administratively upon orders of the Minister of Interior. Fifty percent of those deported are believed to be Asians and others Arabs. Most of deportees were accused of bootlegging, trafficking in drugs, robbery, fraud, rape and kidnapping. Those who were deported administratively without being referred to the judiciary were violators of residence and labor laws.
