KUWAIT CITY, June 7: The Environment Police during a surprise inspection campaign at the Kuwait International Airport are said to have arrested 11 people for smoking in forbidden area, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the smokers were caught red-handed while smoking in ‘non-smoking area’ of the airport.
Each person was fined KD 50 in line with the Environment law. A source told the daily the law is being strictly implemented and that the law will be applied at all public utilities.
Cash stolen from car: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar for breaking into the vehicle of an Egyptian man and stealing money, reports Al-Anba daily. The theft occurred in Naeem, Jahra and the thief reportedly escaped with KD 5,932. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints
BURGLARY: Police are looking for an unidentifi ed burglar for breaking into the home of a Kuwaiti in Maidan Hawally and stealing KD 4,000 cash, reports Al-Anba daily. The complainant, who is in his 40s, said he had saved the money for travel during the summer holidays. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fi ngerprints to identify the culprit.
CHEATED: Police are looking for an unidentifi ed young man for cheating a Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, with his sweet talk the suspect lured the victim with promises of marriage and disappeared after taking KD 3,000 from her. The victim has fi led a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department and given police all information about the cheat.
HUMILIATED: The Egyptian, Ashraf Abu Al-Yameen, who appeared in a video clip naked and beaten by a bedoun employer said the incident (torture and humiliation) took place 14 months ago, reports Al-Rai daily. Abu Al-Yameen said the bedoun with four other Egyptians who worked for him, raided his home and stripped him naked, while one of the Egyptians made footage with his cellphone when he was being humiliated and beaten.
