KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: A 16-year-old GCC boy sustained injuries in different parts of his body when five persons beat and sexually assaulted him inside a camping site in Salmi. Initial investigations revealed one of the suspects — the boy’s friend — invited him to the camping site where they were supposed to have dinner and play. However, when they reached the site, the victim was surprised when his friend asked him to take off his clothes. His refusal prompted the appearance of four other persons and all five took turns in beating him. They then removed his clothes and raped him.

When the boy returned home, he narrated the incident to his father who went to a nearby police station with a medical report showing the injuries and other marks of beating and rape on the boy’s body. The victim provided police with detailed description of the suspects, one of whom have been arrested and referred to the Criminal Evidence Department. Investigations are ongoing to arrest the other suspects.

In another incident, a Kuwaiti man filed a complaint against an unidentified man who allegedly molested his daughter while she was on her way to visit her grandfather in Mubarak Al-Kaber. An intensive investigation ensued, resulting in the arrest of the suspect who was referred to the Public Prosecution.

Bangladeshis caught: Securitymen from the Capital governorate have arrested six Bangladeshis for entering the country on forged passports, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the suspects were arrested in Abu Futaira following intensive investigations after police were tipped off by an unidentified person. Records show three of the six men had been deported from the country for various reasons and the other three are newcomers. During interrogation they admitted to buying the passports for KD 600 from compatriot returnees from Kuwait. The passports had valid residence permit. They added, after arriving into the country they destroyed the passports.

Indian kills self: An Indian man committed suicide by using a piece of cloth to hang himself on the ceiling of a room in a building in Salmiya. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Unit at the Interior Ministry received information on the incident. However, the Indian was already dead when the rescuers arrived at the scene. His remains were referred to Forensics while investigations are underway to determine the actual circumstances leading to the suicide. Meanwhile, an Egyptian tired to commit suicide by taking a large quantity of sleeping pills inside his flat in Hawally. Medical emergency workers rushed him to Mubarak Al-Kaber Hospital where he is confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Police are waiting for his condition to get better to start investigations on what has prompted him to try to end his own life.
