KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Officers from General Department for Residency Investigation Affairs raided a medical company and arrested 24 Asian expatriates who were reported as absconding, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The campaign was launched under the guidance of Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah and based on instructions from Director General of General Department for Residency Investigation Affairs Brigadier Saud Al-Khaddar and his deputy Brigadier Abdullah Al-Rujaib.
When the department received information about a medical company that sheltered a group of domestic workers who are violators of residency law and have been reported as absconding, a team was formed for investigations. After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, the absconders were arrested in a trap. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Public Relations and Security Media Department urged the people of Kuwait to refrain from providing shelter to those who are reported as absconding or are violators of the residency or labor law

Housewives warned: Public Relations and Media Department of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) issued a press statement through which it warned housewives and cleaning workers in companies and institutions against mixing cleaning substances and solutions. Director of Public Relations and Media Department at KFSD Colonel Khalil Al-Ameer explained that the commercial markets sell many cleaning products that are made of chemical substances in high concentration. If these products are mixed, they could result in a dangerous mixture that could cause burns and suffocation from inhalation of poisonous vapors and gases. He revealed that firefighters have dealt with several such cases inside houses. Colonel Al-Ameer stressed the need to be cautious when using cleaning substances inside houses and to keep them out of the reach of children as well as read the labels and instructions on the products before mixing them.
Boy, girl acquitted: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the Court of First Instance and refrained from pronouncing penalty against a young boy and girl arrested under the influence of alcohol. The court ordered the youthful suspects to sign an undertaking to be of good moral behavior for two years. Apparently, the prosecuting officer was on a regular security patrol of Al-Shaab seaside when he noticed the lady walking toward her residence in an erratic manner. The officer approached them for checking and discovered they were at a complete loss. Defense Lawyer Ahmad Al-Failakawi faulted the submissions of the prosecution officer, affirming that the procedures leading to the search and arrest of his clients were illegitimate, and the suspects denied the allegation.
