KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: During a security crackdown in the Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorates, the security authorities have arrested 248 violators of residence law, reports Al-Rai daily. The campaign was organized under the supervision of the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Farraj Al-Zoubi. The sources said that the campaign launched by the Ahmadi Directorate resulted in the arrest of 74 violators of the residency law in the Fahaheel Industrial Area, some of whom were reported absconding and wanted by law.
In the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Directorate 174 Article 20 (domestic) workers were caught working for shops in Al-Qurain. The sources concluded the security campaigns will be organized in all governorates to arrest residence law violators. They will be deported from the country and their sponsors will be asked to bear the cost of deportation.
Meanwhile, the Hawalli Security Directorate during a security campaign in Hawalli have arrested 118 people among them a drunkard, a cross-dresser, 12 people whose residence permits had expired, 93 for not carrying the civil ID and 9 for various reasons, reports Al-Rai daily. All those arrested were fingerprinted to ensure they are not wanted by law.
The campaign that began at 9:00 pm and ended at 10:30 pm, Wednesday was supervised by the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major-General Farraj Al- Zoubi and Director-General of the Hawalli Security Directorate, Major General Abdullah Al-Ali. Taking part in the campaign were 170 officers who erected checkpoints at entrances and exits to ensure no one escapes
