KUWAIT CITY, April 18: General Traffic Department launched several sudden campaigns in all six governorates of Kuwait last week during which 36,999 traffic citations were issued, 1,513 vehicles and 6 motorbikes were seized, 10 stolen vehicles were recovered, 102 individuals who committed serious traffic violations were arrested, 14 expatriates who were caught driving vehicles without drivers’ license were referred for deportation and 1,653 traffic accidents, which resulted in the death of eight individuals and injuries to 230 others, were handled.

In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the Public Relations and Security Media Department stressed the need for all Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to abide by the traffic rules and regulations, affirming that traffic awareness campaigns will continue to be carried out in cooperation with the media
