KUWAIT CITY, Apr 16: On fifth and final day the amnesty centers received 885 illegal Bangladeshi nationals (men and women) bringing total number of applicants to 4,490 men and women to take advantage of decision set by Ministry of Interior to exempt them from paying fines and leave the country with a free air ticket with a hope to return back to Kuwait.

A security source told stated that the number of violators of Bangladeshi community is 32,000, but unfortunately the attendance was not as we expected.

The Bangladeshi Consulate issued 1,400 travel documents for its violating citizens at the Ministry of Interior Center, to contribute to speed their travel and benefit from the decision of the Ministry of Interior

The source stated that those undocumented communities that did not apply to take advantage of the amnesty decision for violators of residence will be under monitoring and prosecution, where security teams will be formed around the clock to raid and seize the dens and locations of all violators and whoever is seized will be stamped and placed in the detention and deported from the country and will not be allowed to enter anymore not only in Kuwait to all the Gulf states for a period of 5 years according to the Gulf security agreement.

The undocumented Bangladeshi community will be placed in the designated quarantine facility in the north of the country so that their country allows the airspace to open for its citizens to receive them. The Kuwaiti side has no objection to deporting them as soon as the airspace is opened for Kuwaiti aircraft.

Evacuation dates

The Ambassador of the Republic of Bangladesh denied setting a date for evacuating for the violators of the community from Kuwait, pointing out that the dates of the evacuation trips will be in accordance with the Foreign Ministries of the both countries.

Abu Al-Kalam stated that his country has made clear to Kuwait the conditions it is going through in light of the global spread of the Corona virus, and the measures it is taking to combat its spread.

Repatriating of 4,000 Bangladeshi nationals is not an easy matter, especially if one of them is infected. He added that the embassy assisted in renewing passports and issuing travel documents, for those wishing to benefit from the initiative to exempt from fines.
