Negative PCR test be carried out at least 72 hours following arrival - 2nd Jan holiday

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: The Kuwaiti cabinet decided to impose a third shot on those who got vaccinated against the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) nine months earlier, as of January 2nd.

The cabinet also instructed that incoming passengers must carry out a negative PCR test 48 hours ahead of arrival instead of 72 hrs which was prescribed earlier, the Center for Government Communication said on Twitter.

The fresh decisions are part of a package of measures decreed by the cabinet during its meeting held today, it said, stating that a 10-day home quarantine will be imposed on all passengers coming to the country as of next Sunday. However, should a negative PCR test be carried out at least 72 hours following arrival, the home quarantine could be over, it added. The cabinet advised people not to travel unless necessary and to follow all health guidelines and precautions.

The Council of Ministers also approved Sunday, January 2, as a day off, in which business in government departments would be closed as an alternative to Saturday, January 1.
