KUWAIT, Aug 11: Kuwait's Ministry of Health said Tuesday that 668 people tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), while four patients died of the disease in the past 24 hours.
The fresh figures bring the country's total number of confirmed infections and death toll to 73,068 and 486 respectively, the Health Ministry's Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA.
The new cases include 432 Kuwaiti citizens, or 64.67 percent, and 35.33 non-Kuwaitis, or 35.33 percent, he said.
Infections as per health regions, 210 cases in the Ahmadi Health District, 121 cases in the Hawalli Health District, 119 cases in the Jahra Health District, 112 cases in the Farwaniya Health District, and 106 cases in the Capital Health District.
Of the overall cases, 117 patients are in intensive care units and 7,890 people are receiving due medical treatment, Dr. Al-Sanad added.
Medical teams conducted 3,658 swab tests in the past 24 hours, raising total swabs since the outbreak of the virus to 64,759.
Earlier today, the Helth Ministry announced the recovery of 731 people from the virus, taking the total up to 64,759 (KUNA)
