ABU DHABI, Dec 9, (KUNA): Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, Disaster Committee for the COVID-19 pandemic said Wednesday that economic and tourism activities will resume normally in two-weeks’ time. In a press release, the committee said that the decision was made due to the success of the countermeasures to lower the spread of the virus in the Emirate.
It went on to say that the committee will continue to coordinate with other authorities to keep the spread of the coronavirus in check via conducting mass testing and monitoring the population. The committee urged members of the society to remain vigilant and adhere to social distancing measures to prevent people from viral infection. Meanwhile, the UAE said its daily confirmed coronavirus cases rose by 1,313 to 180,150 on Wednesday.
Two fatalities were recorded as the death toll increased to 598, state news agency, WAM, quoted health authorities as saying. Meanwhile, some 789 people were cured from the virus, raising the total recoveries to 161,084.
