KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during a meeting with legislators at Bayan Palace on Wednesday, urged for constructive cooperation with the government for serving Kuwait and citizens.

His Highness the Amir, during his reception of the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim and a number of MPS, affirmed necessity of constructive cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, boosting parliamentary action for serving the homeland and the nationals and backing up development.

In his instructions to the parliament members, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf also underscored necessity of adhering to the National Constitution and enforcing the laws. Al-Ghanim headed a delegation at the meeting with the Amir that included members of the assembly bureau for the 16th legislative term.

The MPs present were Deputy Speaker Ahmad Al-Shuhoumi, the assembly secretary Farz Al- Daihani, Parliament’s supervisor Usama Al-Shaheen, head of the legislative and legal affairs commission Khaled Al-Enezi, chairperson of the financial and economic affairs committee Ahmad Al-Hamad, chair of the priorities commission Dr. Hesham Al- Saleh and the assembly Secretary General Allam Al-Kanderi. The meeting was held on the occasion of appointing the bureau members.

Amiri Diwan Undersecretary and Director of His Highness the Amir Bureau, Ahmad Fahad Al- Fahad, attended the meeting. Meanwhile, Chairman of the parliamentary Housing Affairs Committee MP Fayez Al-Jomhour disclosed that the committee on Wednesday met with State Minister for Housing and Services Affairs Dr Abdullah Ma’arefi, senior officials at the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), and general manager of Kuwait Credit Bank.

He said the meeting, which lasted for three hours, was fruitful as most of the major issues were tackled as a follow up to the previous meeting with groups representing the citizens in different areas.

He added the committee was briefed on the work programs of the ministry; confirming that the committee requested for details such as the obstacles to the implementation of housing projects in South Saad Al-Abdullah, Khaitan, Mutla’a, Sabah Al-Ahmad, South Sabah Al-Ahmad and Abdullah Mubarak. He clarified that a poultry company remained at the South Saad Al-Abdullah housing project site because the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) renewed the license of the company.
