KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Interior Ministry has warned the public about a gang which forges driving licenses issued to expatriates in exchange for $800 without the need to visit the concerned authority or pass the driving test, reports Al-Qabas daily. This came after the daily monitored an advertisement posted on Facebook about the services of a certain office that processes transactions for expatriates in many countries including Kuwait. Speaking to the daily, a person from the office, who refused to reveal his identity, disclosed that he issues driving licenses through a Kuwaiti residing in Turkey for $800 per license which is ready within five days. He said the license is original but the date of issuance is three years ago, affirming it is valid for 10 years as it will be charged to Kuwait from Istanbul immediately after issuance. Asked about the validity of the original license issued in Turkey, he explained there is a link with someone who belongs to a sovereign body admitting this is similar to bribery. He added the license has a file number at the Interior Ministry. Meanwhile, a knowledgeable security source has warned expatriates against dealing with this gang, stressing the licenses obtained in this manner are fake and there is no such file in the General Traffic Department
