KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: The Ministry of Education has approved the incentive for 291 employees who carried out various tasks during the 2020 National Assembly elections, reports Al-Rai daily. A budget of KD202,000 was allocated for this purpose and the amount specified for each of the above-mentioned employees depends on their positions - KD1,000 for administration directors, school principals, assistant directors and supervisors; KD750 for department heads; and KD500 for engineers and others.

A source from the educational sector revealed that the Financial Supervision Authority released the lists of beneficiaries recently and the incentive will be deposited into their bank accounts within two days.

Meanwhile, in the 2020 Achievements Report, the Ministry of Communications announced the implementation of the second phase of the optical fiber network project covering 67,000 housing units in 34 areas; and that work is underway to complete the third and final phase, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The ministry presented its achievements in the past year and the future challenges in line with the development plan of the country - the most important of which was Kuwait obtaining a seat in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2019 for a period of two years.
