KUWAIT CITY, June 15: The Rescue and Operations Sector of the Ministry of Interior carried out an extensive security campaign in the Jaber Al-Ahmad area under field supervision by the Sector Undersecretary, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, following complaints about violations by drivers and undisciplined behavior, reports Al-Anba daily. During the campaign securitymen arrested 10 juveniles for driving without license and also seized sachets of drugs, issued 227 citations and arrested three people for consuming drugs.

On the other hand, the Directorate General of Traffic, under the leadership of the Assistant Director-General for Planning and Research Affairs, Brigadier Khaled Mahmoud, launched another campaign that covered several areas, most notably Farwaniya and Khaitan, targeting violations committed by home delivery bikes and taxis.

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 90 citations, most notably not using the adhesive tape on the bicycle box, driving the bike without license, not wearing helmet, expiry of the motorbike registration book, not adhering to driving lanes, driving on paved sidewalks, stopping on sidewalks, not carrying a permit, expiry of the permit and not using the meter, and not placing the vehicle data behind the driver’s seat.
