KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: MP Fayez Al-Jomhour submitted a bill to amend Pre-Marriage Medical Test Law No. 31/2008. He suggested replacing Article One of the law with the following text: “Whoever is planning to get married must undergo a medical test to determine if he suffers from genetic or infectious diseases, as well as to find traces of intoxicants or drugs.
National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al- Ghanim said he is proud to be declared as honorary Chairman of the Arab Scout Parliamentary Union (ASPU). In a press statement after his meeting with a delegation from ASPU including Chairman of the union MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji and a number of prominent Arab personalities, Al-Ghanim expressed happiness over the presence of prominent Arab personalities in Kuwait whose pure soil holds the bodies of martyrs from various Arab countries. He pointed out that many prominent personalities were trained and graduated from the Scout Movement like HH the late Amirs Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al Sabah and Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah.
He said the Scout Movement is one of the most effective and active movements which are part of the best ways to pass on traditions and religious principles to the younger generations. On the other hand, Al-Turaiji congratulated Al-Ghanim for being chosen as honorary chairman; stressing the speaker is a dominant figure while praising the latter’s unwavering support for the union.
Assembly Observer MP Osama Al-Shaheen recently met the winners of Kuwait Award for Sustainable Production and Consumption. The winners are members of the team tasked to treat oil holes including Team Leader Eng Juma’a Belal Basheer. Also present at the meeting were Environment Health and Safety Team Leader at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Marzouq Al-Otaibi and other officials from KOC.
