KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: The revelation made by a Kuwaiti employee of a particular cooperative society on Kuwait TV that he was perpetually absent from work for many years and kept receiving monthly salaries has alerted the National Manpower Sector of the Public Authority for Manpower.

In view of this, inspectors from the sector have been going around cooperative societies to determine the rate of compliance of Kuwaitis to their duties and ensure they are not ghost workers. This became necessary as the employees are registered with the authority and paid monthly subventions.

Meanwhile Department of Public Relations and Media at Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) announced the referral of KFSD employees of the Fire Prevention Sector in Al-Tahrir Tower for investigation, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This action was taken after a video clip went viral on social media as per which the employees were not found in their place of work during official working hours. The department revealed that all these employees have been transferred from the office and replaced with others immediately. It affirmed that KFSD will not condone negligence and lackluster attitude detrimental to interests of citizens and expatriates.
