KUWAIT CITY, May 4: An unidentified Egyptian who had locked his wife behind doors for four days without food or water for unknown reasons, has been freed after he signed a pledge of good conduct, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the incident came to light when the wife through the window of her apartment in South Surrah appealed to a passerby to rescue her and the passerby informed the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. When the police rushed to the spot and opened the door of the apartment where the wife was held hostage, they released her and the latter insisted on filing a complaint against her husband.

Wanted man faints: Traffic police have arrested a Kuwaiti who was wanted for failing to pay more than KD 500,000 to several companies, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the suspect was arrested in Hawally and following the arrest, he fainted due to high blood pressure. He was rushed to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital. He is being treated under police guard and following his discharge from hospital he will be handed over to the authorities.

Trio in drug pedding: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested three people -- two Kuwaitis and a bedoun -- for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, police acting on information put the suspects under surveillance for some time and set a trap for them and arrested them.
