KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: Officers from the General Criminal Investigation Department arrested a Filipina for drug trafficking with 4,000 Tramadol pills, a quarter kilo of shabu and cash amounting to KD 2,000 in her possession.
Acting on information about the illegal activity of the suspect who works at a supermarket in Salmiya, the officers put her under surveillance and a secret agent was instructed to purchase narcotics from her.
The suspect was caught red-handed upon completion of the bogus transaction. Initial investigations revealed the suspect and her Egyptian husband, who is an inmate at the Central Prison, are involved in the illegal trade. A case was registered and the Filipina was referred to the relevant security department.
KD 25,000 for ‘citizenship’: Head of Criminal Security Sector Major General Abdulhameed Al- Awadhi revealed that a Kuwaiti citizen has been arrested for adding two sons of a Dominican man in his files in order for them to be granted Kuwaiti citizenship for which he received KD 25,000, reports Al-Anba daily.
