KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The General Department for Residency Affairs has confirmed the recent news published exclusively on Al-Shahid newspaper concerning the condition set by Ministry of Interior for renewal of residency for expatriates’ parents and siblings under dependant visa whereby an insurance certificate of KD 3,000 from an insurance company has been made mandatory for covering their annual medical expenses, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The daily was informed that expatriates who wish to renew the residencies of their parents and siblings will be given a grace period of four months by the department, starting from the date of their visit until the proof of health insurance policy worth KD 3,000 is presented to the concerned authorities. Failure to do so will result in the concerned expatriates’ parents and siblings being listed as violators of the residency law. An order will then be issued to deport them when they are arrested without valid residency.
