KUWAIT CITY, July 5: A 29-year-old Kuwaiti man was arrested for raping a Filipina inside a furnished flat in Mahboula. A press statement from the Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Ministry of Interior revealed that intensive investigations were conducted after the Philippine Embassy filed a complaint against an unknown person dealing with those who ‘sell’ Filipino domestic workers. After reaching an agreement with the ‘sellers’, the unknown person told them he wanted to evaluate the work experience of a Filipina to determine if she is fit for the job but he raped her instead.

The suspect was identified later as a 29-year-old Kuwaiti and he was referred to the concerned security department for legal measures. Meanwhile, the department appealed to the citizens and expatriates to deal only with licensed domestic labor offices and avoid hiring domestic workers through unknown persons. The department also confirmed that the securitymen intensified efforts to track down anyone who intends to destabilize Kuwait and harm its people.By Mishal Al-Sanousi Al-Seyassah Staff and Agencies
