Smoke billows from the burning boat as the public looks on (right).KUWAIT CITY, July 24: A huge fire engulfed a fishing boat which was docked on Al-Shamlan slipway. No casualties were reported. In a press statement issued by Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), the Public Relations and Media Department of KFSD explained that the Control Room of KFSD received information about the boat on fire and the possibility of the fire spreading to 260 boats that were docked nearby.Firefighters led by Deputy Head of Shuwaikh Marine Fire Center Major Mohammad Malallah rushed to the location and pulled the burning boat away from the rest of the boats to prevent the spread of the fire, after which they easily extinguished the fire. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire. Securitymen and paramedics were present at the location.
