19 Pharmacies shut down

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26 The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the distribution of medical masks to travelers at Kuwait International Airport.

The ministry said in a press statement today, that the process of distributing medical masks to travelers came in coordination with the Ministry of Health at Kuwait International Airport in buildings (T1 and T4), after the closure of pharmacies in the airport premises.

Sources said that the distribution process will be carried out by the General Administration of Civil Aviation and in the same places of pharmacies, stressing that the inspection teams continue their tours of the markets and pharmacies "and will not hesitate" to take legal measures against violators.

The Ministry had announced earlier today, the closure of 19 pharmacies, so far it has not complied with the ministerial decision to set prices for the sale of medical masks.

The Minister of commerce and Industry, Khaled Al-Roudhan, issued a decision based on a letter from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health regarding setting prices for selling medical respirators, with prices ranging from 100 fils to 1.320 Kuwaiti dinars.
