KUWAIT CITY, May 27: Head of the Citations Department, and acting supervisor of cleanliness at the Kuwaiti Municipality, Hawally branch Nasser Al-Ghanim has said the Municipality will deal strictly with those who throw cigarette butts onto the street from moving vehicles, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the fine will range between KD 5 and KD 200 depending on the nature and seriousness of the offence. In some cases the violator may be referred to the Public Prosecution.

He said according to the law No.9 of the year 1987 throwing all kinds garbage and cigarettes butts from a moving vehicle, the value of the citation will be KD 5 (if the violation is indirect).

The vehicle’s plate number and the citation will be recorded against the violator at the General Traffic Department
