‘Acting no longer a reason for delay in getting married’

Fatima Al-Damkhi

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: “I do not have a passion for fame and all that I dream about embodies the personality of a blind, deaf and dumb girl,” artiste Fatima Al-Damkhi told the Al-Seyassah daily.

She said there are many producers and directors who are interested in Kuwaiti talents particularly from among the new generation and ready to provide all support to them, denying at the same time middlemen are involved in getting a job.

Al-Damkhi explained that she presented a set of dramatic works such as “I am tired of your land, silk threads, my darling my life, and I forgive you willingly”, and others, and she had no previous knowledge with those in charge of these works, pointing out that a good artiste is the one who proves himself/herself in all the works assigned to him/her.

She considered that the Kuwaiti girl’s work in acting is no longer a reason for delay in getting married, especially in light of the awareness that is now taking place. Rather, many husbands who marry female artists are helping them as they do now, and this came during this meeting.

She unveiled that she finished the  filming  of the series “My Father’s Dear”, produced by Bassem Abdel Amir and directed by Ali Al-Ali, a group of stars participated, including Maram, Abdullah Al-Talhi, Rawan Al-Mahdi and others,

Talking about relationships, friendships, etc, she said personally speaking “I do not ‘keep’ relationships in the artistic community and all the roles that I got, I had no previous knowledge of producers or directors. To the contrary, after I participated in “silk threads”, it was my new series, in ‘My Love My Life’ I did not know the director Khaled Al-Fadli or the producer. The issue is what is offered to the artiste.”
