KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: Ministry of Information carried out an extensive campaign in 38 areas around Kuwait to confiscate pirated CDs which are in violation of copyright laws, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Assistant Undersecretary for Journalism, Publication and Printing Khalid Al-Rashidi affirmed that the Investigations Department, based on direct instructions from Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah and under the guidance of Undersecretary Tareq Al-Mizrem, carried out the campaign during which a large number of pirated CDs were confiscated.
He said the campaign was aimed to preserve the copyright and ownership rights, affirming that violations in this regard will not be tolerated. Al-Rashidi stressed that such campaigns will continue to be held throughout the country to eradicate this negative phenomenon.
