KUWAIT CITY, April 15: An Iraqi expatriate and two Kuwaiti women were arrested in Mahboula area in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. One of the Kuwaiti women was wanted by law for nonpayment of KD 37,000 and the other did not have any identification documents.According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Mahboula area at night when they noticed a vehicle with three occupants parked by the roadside. They approached the vehicle and checked the details of the driver to discover he is an Iraqi.He was accompanied with two Kuwaiti women. One of these women took out a bag and gave it to the Iraqi man. Securitymen checked it to discover it contained drugs and drug paraphernalia. However, the women insisted that it is medicine. Also, one of the women was wanted by law for nonpayment of debt worth KD 37,000, while the other did not have any identification documents on her. The three suspects were arrested and referred to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.Motorist surrenders: An unknown individual died when he was hit by a car driven by a Kuwaiti citizen on King Fahad Expressway opposite Jaber Al-Ali area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location to discover the victim had died and the motorist who hit him had run away.The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department. However, the motorist who turned out to be a Kuwaiti citizen had later surrendered himself at the police station of the area. He said the victim crossed the road suddenly in front of him and he could not avoid hitting him. A case was registered and necessary action was taken.15 reckless motorists held: Officers from Public Security Sector arrested 15 reckless drivers and seized their vehicles during security campaigns launched in all six governorates targeting reckless drivers. According to security sources, the sector arrested these reckless drivers within a few hours. It will continue to launch such campaigns against people who drive recklessly and perform dangerous stunts on public roads. Meanwhile, a youth was arrested for disturbing the residents of Fahad Al-Ahmad area by driving recklessly and performing stunts with his vehicle, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, the youth had closed a street for this purpose which caused inconvenience to many who wanted to use the street. Ahmadi securitymen rushed to the location after receiving information about the situation and they arrested the youth and seized his vehicle.
